2006 IWRF World Championships Organizing Committee Honored

Anyone that was in Christchurch, New Zealand for the 2006 World Wheelchair Rugby Championships knows first hand what a great event it was. The local organizing committee went all out in its planning, and in turn staged the most successful Wheelchair Rugby event held to date. On October 5th, Ken Sowden and his organizing committee were publicly recognized and presented with the "Sir Richard Hadley Award" for Outstanding Event of 2006.

Congratulations go out to Ken, his organizing committee and volunteers, and the thousands of local fans that made the 2006 World Championships such a huge success. You set a high standard for our sport, one that the athletes, coaches and support staff truly appreciate. Well done!!
