Dates for 2015 European Championships Announced
New Divisional structure will include events in in Ireland, Czech Republic, and Finland
Starting in 2015, the International Wheelchair Rugby Federation (IWRF) European Zone will adopt a new Divisional structure for the IWRF 2015 European Championship. Approved by the IWRF membership at last month’s General Assembly, the new structure will include three fully sanctioned tournaments, and allows all countries within Europe the opportunity to progress to the top Division and a chance to qualify for the 2016 Paralympic Games.
The IWRF European Division C Championship will include those teams that did not qualify for the IWRF 2013 European Championship, as well as countries in Europe that are new to international wheelchair rugby competition. This tournament will be hosted in Dublin, Ireland from January 27th to February 1st, and will include up to eight teams. All participating countries must be Full Members of the IWRF in order to be eligible to compete.
The IWRF European Division B Championship will include countries that finished in 7 to 12 place at the IWRF 2013 European Championship, plus the top two countries from Division C. This tournament will be hosted in Prague, Czech Republic from April 11th to 19th, and will feature eight countries.
The IWRF 2015 European Division A Championship, will include the top six countries from the IWRF 2013 Championship, plus the top two countries from Division B. This tournament will be hosted in Pajulahti, Finland from September 13th to 20th. The top two countries at the Division A Championship will qualify for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

IWRF 2015 European Division B Championship
April 11 - 19, Prague, Czech Republic
Tournament director: David Lukes,
Participants: Austria, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, plus the top two finishers at the IWRF 2015 European Championship Division C
IWRF 2015 European Division A Championship
September 13 - 20, Pajulahti, Finland
Tournament director: Hannele Poysti,
Participants: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, plus the top two finishers at the IWRF 2015 European Championship Division B
