Schedule, Events & Registration for IWRF General Assembly, Conference and DHIF Development Congress

The IWRF 2014 General Assembly and Conference will be held at the Odense Congress Centre in Odense, Denmark from August 2 to 4, 2014. This will be followed by a Development Congress on August 5 and 6, 2014, hosted by the Danish Sport Organization for the Disabled (DHIF).


Delegates to these events may also choose to stay for all or part of the IWRF World Championship, taking place at the same time and location.


All IWRF member countries and developing nations are encouraged to send a delegate to participate in the important and educational events listed below.

Programme of Events
The full programme of events is still being developed for the IWRF Conference and the DHIF Development Congress, and will be distributed soon. Planning includes the following:


IWRF Conference
The IWRF Conference is for all IWRF member and developing nations. Sessions will include:
• Long Term Athlete Development
• Coaching and Team Management
• Operational and Strategic Planning
• Officials Development


DHIF Development Congress
The Development Congress is aimed at countries with new and developing wheelchair rugby programs, including countries in international competition that wish to improve their rugby programs as well as countries that have not yet begun international competition. Planned sessions will include:
• Governing sport for athletes with disabilities
• Organizing elite sport and performance
• Recruiting new athletes
• Cooperation with health care professional
• Long Term Athlete Development
• Creating new ideas – making plans for the next level


Delegates have three options for registration:
• General Assembly and Conference (3 days)
• Development Congress (2 days)
• General Assembly and Conference and Development Congress (5 days)

Delegates can also register to stay for additional days after the Conference and Congress to attend the 2014 IWRF World Championship as a spectator.



The deadline to register for the IWRF 2014 General Assembly and Conference, and the DHIF Development Congress is Thursday, May 29, 2014.
