IWRF to hold European Zone Development Congress in Belgium

The IWRF Development Committee is pleased to announce that it will host the first official Wheelchair Rugby Development Congress of the European Zone. This important meeting will take place on Monday, August 12, 2013 in Antwerp, Belgium in conjunction with the IWRF European Championship.

The Development Congress is designed for nations that are currently developing wheelchair rugby programs in their countries, and will focus on team building, basic wheelchair rugby education, rules, player classification (eligibility), tournament organization, rugby equipment, networking, and the joint development of programs. The following countries are encouraged to send representatives to Antwerp to attend this meeting: Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Turkey and the Ukraine.

The cost to attend the Development Congress and European Championship is free; however attendees are responsible for their own air and ground transportation, housing, and meals. The local organizing committee has arranged rooms at the tournaments host hotel, Ramada Plaza.

Transportation to the competition venue can be done by public transportation via the tram line within a five minute walk from both the hotel and venue. This is a direct line with no need to change trams.
