2010
World Wheelchair Rugby Championships to be held in Vancouver,
Canada
The International
Wheelchair Rugby Federations (IWRF)
2010
World Wheelchair Rugby Championships will be held in
Vancouver,
Canada. The event will take place from September 16 to 25th, at the
Richmond Olympic Oval, a new sports facility built
for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Twelve of
the worlds best National teams will travel to Vancouver in
September to begin their quests for a spot in the 2012 Paralympic
Games to be held in London. Wheelchair Rugby is a full contact
sport that is played indoors on a modified basketball court. The
game was originally founded in Canada in 1997, and has since been
named a "Heritage Sport". With more than twenty-seven countries
participating in the game, Wheelchair Rugby is often referred to
as the fastest growing wheelchair sport in the world today. To
